Bank of Palestine made a donation in kind to blind children at UNRWA Al-Noor Center for the Blind in the Gaza Strip. The donation consisted of 10 Braille embossers which were delivered in Al-Noor Center in the presence of Deputy General Director Mr Ala’ Al-Radwan, Marketing and Public Relations Division Mr Khaldoun Abu Salim, and Acting Director of the Relief and Special Services Program in UNRWA, Gaza, Mr Asem Abu Shaweesh.
Al-Radwan said Bank of Palestine’s donation to the blind children stems from its corporate social responsibility in Gaza Strip. He stated that Bank of Palestine plays a crucial role in supporting development projects and services and raising the living standards of Palestinians in Gaza. The bank has also sponsored Al-Noor Center Golden Jubilee. Al-Radwan added Bank of Palestine has sponsored several activities in Gaza Strip especially in the health, relief education, sports and youth sectors. The latest donation by the Bank of Palestine to Gaza was USD 100,000 allocated for the renovation of damaged housed affected by the latest snowstorm that hit Palestine.
Asem Abu Shaweesh expressed gratitude and appreciation to bank of Palestine for this generous donation that shows the bank’s concern about the visually impaired and the blind. He added Braille embossers will help facilitate learning for the blind children and help them to read.
