The first Palestinian Concert by Le Trio Joubran in Olympia, Paris
Bank of Palestine sponsored a concert by Le Trio Joubran that was held in Ramallah Cultural Palace on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the group. Le Trio Joubran is a Palestinian oud trio, consisting of the brothers Samir, Wissam, and Adnan Joubran from the city of Nazareth. The three brothers developed a compelling, intuitive style that allows the Arabic lute to be heard in a new way, not just in backing work or solos but as a trio instrument in complex, emotional and remarkably varied compositions. One of their remarkable albums, "In The Shadow of the Words", is a poetry-and-music set, dominated by the writing of the late Mahmoud Darwish and aimed largely at the Arab world, displays their instrumental work at its best.
Hashim Shawa, Chairman and General Manager of Bank of Palestine attended the concert, besides Dr. Salam Fayyad and a number of ministers and representatives from the private sector.
Bank of Palestine will also sponsor the Le Trio Joubran Concert that will take place in Olympia, Paris on the 7th of February 2013.
