Bank of Palestine gives $100 to all children born on November 29, 2012, Palestinian statehood day

 

 

Celebrating Palestine’s upgrade to “non-member state” at the UN, Bank of Palestine gave children who were born on the day of the admittance, November 29, 2012, a financial gift of $100.


Hashim Shawa, Chairman and General Manager of Bank of Palestine, stated that this campaign is part of the bank’s CSR commitment and the active role it plays in the country under all circumstances. Shawa expressed his happiness at Palestine’s diplomatic achievement at the UN, and congratulated the Palestinian leadership and people on this historic achievement.


The UN General Assembly upgraded the status of Palestine to “non-member observer state” after a historic vote with 138 votes in favor, 9 against, and 41 abstentions, making Palestine the 194th state at the UN.
