Trained and sponsored by Bank of Palestine, the H2O Meter student company won the Barwa Bank’s Award for the ‘Best Marketing Plan’ at the 6th annual INJAZ Al-Arab Young Entrepreneurs Competition.





H2O Meter student company consists of a group of students from the Evangelical School in Ramallah, trained by a team of BoP's staff for over five months. Earlier this year, H2O Meter won the "Best Student Company in Palestine" and the "Best Product Idea" awards in the INJAZ-Palestine competition. H2O Meter, marketed by the student company as an eco-friendly and modern electronic product, measures water levels in water reservoirs, spots leaks in the tanks, and encourages rational water consumption. It consists of two parts; the first part is placed in the water tank to measure its level, and the second is placed in the house and is an electronic board with 5 lights showing water levels in the tank and whether there are any leaks. The device received a patent from the Palestinian Ministry of Economy.

Hashim Shawa, Chairman and General Manager of BoP, congratulated the H2O Meter team for winning ‘Best Marketing Plan’ award, which came as a result of BoP's relentless training efforts and the teams’ dedication, hard work, and strong will.

Randa Ramhi, General Manager of INJAZ-Palestine, thanked the H2O Meter team for their hard work and BoP for training the team and its effort in helping the team make it to INJAZ Al-Arab.

Thaer Hamayel, Head of the Public Relations and Marketing Division at BoP and supervisor of the training, expressed his great joy with the results of the competition, stating that the two awards won by the team are the result of long hours of hard work and dedication of BoP's staff and the H2O Meter team. Dana Jabarin, CEO of the H2O student company, was proud of her team for winning a regional Arab award at a young age, and for experiencing the thrilling world of entrepreneurship.


The INJAZ Al-Arab Young Arab Entrepreneurs Competition was launched in 2007 and is attended by national competition winners from countries across the region. This year’s competition was the culmination of 5430 participating students working to create 240 student companies across 13 countries including Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, UAE and Yemen.
