Mr. Hashim Hani Shawa assumed on Sunday 15th April, 2007 the position of General Manager and Vice Chairman of Bank of Palestine following the untimely passing away of his father, Dr. Hani Shawa.

Mr. Shawa met with the heads of different departments of the General Administration and branch managers and stressed his determination to continue implementing the strategies and policies that his late father, Dr. Hani Shawa had set in motion which have elevated Bank of Palestine as the region's leading financial institution. He also emphasized that he is determined to utilize all his professional finance and corporate experience gained during the past ten years while working as Vice – President in leading global financial institutions Citibank and HSBC. He said he will ensure that all latest technological and modern banking practices will be implemented for the benefit of Bank of Palestine's customers as well as the overall development of the country.
