Continuing the Humanitarian and Relief Bridge and in Celebration of the Blessed Month of Ramadan
Bank of Palestine Contributes to Providing 1,000,000 Meals in the Gaza Strip and Thousands of Meals in the West Bank Cities
Bank of Palestine has started contributing to the provision of 1,000,000 meals in the Gaza Strip for thousands of affected and displaced individuals. Additionally, food parcels are being distributed in the West Bank during the blessed month of Ramadan. This initiative is a continuation of the bank's humanitarian interventions within the relief bridge it launched at the beginning of the war, in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan, in partnership with several local and international organizations. It is part of the Ramadan campaign, "All for One, Ramadan Goodness is Found in Hope."
The bank's new interventions in the Gaza Strip, which will be implemented through the Anera Foundation, include supporting three charity kitchens that will provide one million meals in the Gaza Strip for those affected by the war. The bank will also distribute food parcels to displaced families in Gaza through the Cooperation Foundation and the Ataa Palestine Association.
In cooperation with the GROW project, Bank of Palestine will also contribute to distributing food parcels to citizens and needy families facing difficult economic and living conditions in the north and center of the West Bank. These parcels will be sourced from Palestinian women’s projects as part of the bank's support for women and their initiatives. This comes alongside a program to support several charity kitchens in the cities of Jenin, Nablus, Tulkarm, Jericho, and the town of Abu Dis east of Jerusalem, in partnership with civil society organizations.
These interventions coincide with the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan, a month of mercy and solidarity, under the slogan "All for One," which is part of a campaign launched by the bank to enhance the ability of displaced individuals to endure the pressures of war, the rising cost of food in the Gaza Strip, and the loss of the essentials for a dignified life. The bank's efforts in the West Bank are also part of its commitment to the Palestinian people who are living through difficult economic conditions.
It is worth noting that this program is part of the ongoing humanitarian and relief bridge established by Bank of Palestine to support our affected people and displaced families since the beginning of the war. The continuous humanitarian support has included thousands of hot meals, food parcels, bottled water, and hygiene kits for displaced individuals. Additionally, urgent winter supplies have been provided to families and children. Emergency financial assistance has been provided to patients in Gaza hospitals in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Jordan. The bank has also organized recreational and psychological support activities for women and children in shelters. To date, the total value of the interventions has exceeded 2.5 million US dollars, with nearly 18 humanitarian and developmental initiatives carried out.
