Bank of Palestine and the General Union of Palestinian Industries conducts a workshop on methods to develop, support and finance industrial and production projects in Hebron

Bank of Palestine, in cooperation with the General Union of Palestinian Industries, held a workshop on methods to develop, support and finance industrial and production projects, at the Banks’s branch’s building in Hebron. The workshop also aimed to enhance the networking and resolve financial problems they face, in addition to enhancing the level of businesses, construction industries, and small projects, to ensure a better performance to their business.

The workshop was held on Monday, 18/04/2016, in the presence of Mr. Hani Naser, Bank of Palestine’s Assistant General Manager for West Bank Branches and for Credit, Dr. Odeh Zaghmouri, General Union of Palestinian Industries’ Secretary-General, Mr. Noor-AlDin Jaradat, Secretary of the Union, and a group of the Bank’s Department and Branch Heads, with participation by a large group of businessmen and owners of small construction and industrial projects, and a group of merchants in Hebron.

During this workshop, Mr. Hani Naser welcomed the attendees, expressing his gratitude for the active participation by businessmen and owners of projects and factories. He confirmed that this workshop aims to emphasize the importance of communication, networking and mutual cooperation, and for the attendees to give their suggestions and inquiries, in order to develop services that meet their businesses’ nature and requirements. This workshop also aims to provide a comprehensive picture about the Bank’s services and their features, and the benefits and potential support provided to the owners of Palestinian industries.

Mr. Thaer Hamayel, Marketing and Public Relations Director at Bank of Palestine, provided an overview about the evolution of the Bank and its journey since it was established in 1960. The Bank continued to develop products and services that meet the needs of various social and economic segments, to receive international recognition and classifications. Hamayel also presented the financial results and indicators achieved by the Bank over the past years.

Mr. Noor-AlDin Jaradat commended the existing partnership between the Bank and the General Union of Palestinian Industries, which enables the industrialists to access easy financing and enables the Bank to support industrial and construction projects to develop and advance, within an integrated program that seeks to reach full partnership towards a robust economy.

Dr. Odeh Zaghmouri introduced the strategic national partnership between the Union and the Bank. Dr. Zaghmouri also introduced the agreement with Bank of Palestine to allocate a financing fund with the initial amount of USD100 million that targets the industrial sector in Palestine. Zaghmouri explained the proposed fields for financing, which includes industrial enterprises, product lines and equipment, in addition to financing the operating capital to purchase raw and packaging materials, as well as the procedures and mechanisms that will be followed by the industrialist and owners of small enterprises.

Mr. Shakher Safadi, Small Enterprises Department Head at Bank of Palestine, presented the financial services package provided by the Bank, particularly to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The Bank allocated USD200 million to support SMEs. He also provided an overview about the foreign exchange services, foreign trade and electronic services, accounts and credit facilitations provided by the Bank in a quick and distinctive manner.

At the end of the workshop, a discussion took place to answer the questions asked by the businessmen who also provided suggestions to be considered by the Bank, in order to meet their financing needs and the various financial services they require.
