In partnership with the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation, Bank of Palestine was the major sponsor for the events and activities of “Know Thy Heritage” program that is implemented by the foundation with an aim to seek a mechanism for cultural and social communication and exchange with Palestinian youth in the Diaspora. Every year, the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation brings groups of Palestinian youth from abroad to introduce them to their homeland and its history, culture, civilization, art, and heritage.
This year, the program hosted a delegation of 30 youth boys and girls from seven countries within four continents around the world. Some of these youth are enrolled at international universities studying law, medicine, education, etc. Their visit to Palestine was over a period of two weeks, where they conducted visits to several Palestinian cities, including Bethlehem, Jericho, Jerusalem, Ramallah, Hebron, Nablus, Haifa and Nazareth, to learn about their landscape and features.
The delegation also participated in the debates that were held at the Sixth Annual Palestinian Diaspora Convention at Bethlehem University, which was organized by the “Know Thy Heritage” program. Bank of Palestine participated in one of the sessions of the convention entitled “Building Palestine through Business, Tourism and Development.”
On another note, Bank of Palestine received the youth delegation at its headquarters in Ramallah and introduced them to the Bank’s journey that began in 1960, the continuous success stories on the Arab and regional levels, and its activities pertaining to corporate social responsibility for which the bank allocated 6% of its annual profits. The bank also received the delegation at the Art Gallery that is located at its main branch in Bethlehem.
