The Jericho Women Charitable Society, in partnership with Bank of Palestine, opened and equipped a garden for the children of the nursery to provide them with a safe and comfortable environment that would enable them to develop their motor skills physically and mentally. Bank of Palestine played a substantial role in developing this garden.
The ceremony featured an opening speech by Mrs. Hayat Dajani, the Director of the Jericho Women Charitable Society, who welcomed the guests and spoke about the history of the Society, its accomplishments and projects and the importance of developing facilities in general and children’s facilities in particular. Dajani also spoke about the positive effects that any change or development would have on the society and the community in general.
Mr. Muhammad Masaeed, the Director of Bank of Palestine Jericho branch, expressed his enthusiasm about the relationship between the bank and the Jericho Women Charitable Society, pointing out that the bank allocates part of its annual profits to support developmental projects in various governorates across the country including education, youth empowerment, innovation, sports, health and environment, arts and culture, development , economic affairs and diaspora relations, humanitarian aid in addition to women empowerment.. The bank’s support for the society’s nursery, which involved the rehabilitation of the garden, is part of the bank’s strategy to develop the local community and provide a healthy, safe and interactive environment for children, who are the leaders of the future.
Mr. Salem Gharouf, the Mayor of Jericho, delivered a speech expressing his pride in the Jericho Women Charitable Society and his honor to be working with them. He said that his children attended the nursery, and some of them still go there. He expressed his gratitude to all those who support the Society, especially Bank of Palestine, for its interest in supporting children, considering them the leaders of the future, and their upbringing should be based on good behavior and love for their country.
