Mr. Hashim Shawa, Chairman and General Manager, Bank of Palestine , announced the bank’s provision of an urgent financial donation to Al- Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem. This contribution will be covering its shortage in medical needs, and hence would assist in treating patients and those injured in Jerusalem.
Shawa stated that this support comes as part of the bank’s national and social responsibility towards the city of Jerusalem, and its strategic relationship with Al- Makassed Hospital and Jerusalem-based organizations. He also expressed his pride in the partnership between Bank of Palestine and Al - Makassed Hospital, adding that the bank’s vision places health and education at the forefront of social development in Palestine. Shawa also pointed out that this donation represents the bank’s intention to develop and implement initiatives based on a strategy of continuous social development.
According to Shawa, the bank allocates 6% of its annual profits for developmental and community projects in the Palestinian society. The bank is engaged in initiatives across sectors including education, youth empowerment, innovation, sports, health and environment, arts and culture, development , economic affairs and diaspora relations, humanitarian aid in addition to women empowerment.
