Bank of Palestine signs an Agreement with Birzeit Shopping Mall’s Management to Open a New Electronic Branch

Bank of Palestine, represented by Mr. Hashim Shawa, Bank of Palestine’s Chairman and General Manager, signed an agreement with Birzeit Shopping Mall’s Management, represented by Mr. Sharif Bayyari, CEO of Bayyari Investment Inc., in order to open a new electronic branch for the Bank within the new commercial complex located between Birzeit and  Jifna, north of Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate. The agreement was recently signed at the Bank’s General Management Head Office in Ramallah, in the presence of several officials and Department and Section Heads at Bank of Palestine, as well as a delegation from Birzeit Mall’s Management.

The new Birzeit Mall is featured with its horizontal design, and its architectural design that combines the American and Arab modern styles. The Mall was established on an area of eight dunums, with a construction area of 20000 square meters, under the management of Bayyari Investment Inc., under the supervision Bayyari Commercial Inc, supervised by Nino Engineering Office, represented by Shawkat Law Firm through the Office Manager, Yousef Shawkat.

Mr. Hashim Shawa expressed his contentment for opening a new electronic branch for the Bank in Birzeit Mall. He indicated that the new electronic branch will service the shoppers and residents of surrounding villages and areas; he confirmed that the Bank still owns the largest Palestinian banking network to reach 70 branches and sub-branches by the end of the year. He commended the modern design of the new Birzeit Mall, and praised all Palestinians in diaspora who come back home to build developmental and economic projects that support the growth and alleviates unemployment, such as the owner of this project, Mr. Sharif Bayyari.

Shawa added that the inauguration of a new electronic branch for Bank of Palestine is due to the Bank’s approach towards the development of services that meet the needs of the Palestinian society, and keeping up with all modern developments in the financial and business world. The Bank launched a package of services, most prominently is the “Mobile Banking” service, to facilitate the execution of banking transactions for customers through their phones in a secure and easy manner. The Bank also developed a new service through the mobile banking application, which is “Pay a Friend” service, which enables the customers to transfer small amounts of money to their friends through the registered phone numbers at the Bank. In addition to launching the e-commerce service, which enables corporations to collect money due from individuals and companies or collect donations through their websites. Shawa also explained that the Bank enhanced other electronic services provided through the website, to meet the needs of the customers from all economic and social segments. The electronic services provides through the website and the mobile applications reached a distinctive ratio of customers, to save them effort, time and money.

Mr. Sharif Bayyari  expressed his pride for the presence of Bank of Palestine along with the large Palestinian institutions that are  present in Birzeit Mall. He expressed his contentment to come back to Palestine and invest in this country through establishing useful projects. Bayyari added that Birzeit Mall is divided into several areas for shopping and others for entertainment, which will attract visitors from all cities, especially due its strategic location, only few kilometers away from Ramallah, under a quiet atmosphere.  Bayyari added that the complex is made out of four floors designed in a horizontal manner, to provide various services that meet the all the needs and requirements of customers. The first floor includes a parking lot that can accommodate 200 vehicles.  The second and their floors include 100 commercial stores with different areas for clothes and international restaurants, in addition to the banking and telecommunication services, as well as the outside family seating areas. The fourth floor will include a residential area, designed according to American student-housing style, which consists of 29 suits and can accommodate 150 students, two to four within each suite. The furnished apartments are allocated for female students, as Birzeit embraces a university attended by hundreds of students, which makes this location an integrated residence that meets the students’ daily needs, particularly due to its location above the shopping center.
