Bank of Palestine provides its Golden Sponsorship to the Palestinian Food Exhibition

Bank of Palestine provided its golden sponsorship to the eleventh Palestinian Food Exhibition under the title “Ghizaona 2016”, which was organized by the Palestinian Food Industries Union between June 2 and 4, 2016, at the Chalets Tourist Resort at Gaza Beach, under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Dr. Rami Hamdallah.

The Bank’s sponsorship to the Food Industries Exhibition is due to its belief in the necessity to support Palestinian industries and provide them with marketing and development opportunities, and promote them both locally and internationally. This will contribute in stimulating the national economy, increase productivity, and create new job opportunities for Palestinian youth.

At the opening ceremony, the President of the Food Industries Union, Mr. Bassam Walweel, thanked all institutions sponsoring this exhibition. He indicated that this exhibition is one of the most important annual achievements of the Food Industries Union, in which it is held in both Gaza and the West Bank under the difficult conditions witnessed by the besieged Palestinian people, in support of Palestinian products and their exportation abroad. The exhibition also demonstrations the standards of the food industries sector and its clear development to compete with imported quality products and commodities. Walweel indicated that this exhibition aims to support the local products and food industries and to introduce them to the Palestinian public, in addition to connecting various institutions together in order to advance the quality and the standards of the Palestinian products.

Ali Hayek, Vice President of the Food Industries Union, thanked everyone who contributed in supporting “Ghizaona” exhibition, which held the slogan “buy a local product, and employ your child”. About 35 companies and factories from the West Bank and Gaza participated in the exhibition. He exclusively thanked Bank of Palestinian for its continuous support to the national projects and sponsoring events that support development projects.

Mrs. Haifa Al-Agha, Minister of Women Affairs, on behalf of the Prime Minister Dr. Rami Hamdallah, welcomed the attendees and thanked all owners and employees of the companies for their efforts in advancing the national economy and building our state, considering this exhibition as a proof for the strength and robustness of the industrial sector under siege.

Bank of Palestine’s sponsorship to this exhibition is due to its application to social responsibility programs for the service of Palestinian people. The Bank allocates 6% of its annual net profit to support all Palestinian sectors and development projects, confirming that Bank of Palestine contributes to remain a first-degree national bank and supports local products made by Palestinians.
