Bank of Palestine supports the opening of a multipurpose hall in Ein Al Sultan refugee camp in Jericho

Bank of Palestine provided support for the opening of a multipurpose hall in Ein Al Sultan refugee camp in Jericho city, stemming from the efforts conducted in cooperation with the camp’s popular committee for implementing developmental programs and projects with the local community and international organizations, in response to the needs of refugee camps.

The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. Saeb Ureiqat, the Secretary-General of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, Dr. Tawfiq Al Tirawi, Mr. Jihad Abu Al Asal, the Governor of Jericho, representatives from Bank of Palestine, Mr. Salem Gharuf, the Mayor of Jericho, heads of local councils, and several officials and popular individuals, including the camp residents.

Bank of Palestine’s support stems from its endeavors in the field of corporate social responsibility and in harmony with its vision to support the local community in the development of infrastructure and establishing spaces that contribute to social and economic development. The inauguration of the hall took place two years after the bank established a new park for children in Oqbat Jaber refugee camp, as part of Al Bayara Parks project that is implemented by the bank in partnership with several civil society organizations and Palestinians from the diaspora.

The construction of the hall was financed by the Department of Refugee Affairs at the Palestinian Liberation Organization and the Arab Fund for Social Development – Kuwait. The hall was furnished through funding from Bank of Palestine and the Ein Sultan refugee camp committee.
