Mr. Hashim Shawa, Bank of Palestine’s Chairman confirmed that the provision of 370 food parcels for the guards, workers and cleaners of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock, is only a small gesture in recognition to their efforts and keenness to protect the holy mosque day and night and for their work to provide services for the worshipers and visitors during the Holy Month.
This kind gesture took place in the last ten days of the Holy Month as a humble contribution from Bank of Palestine to support the efforts of those anonymous soldiers to maintain Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock, aiming to recognize their role and honor the workers, employees and guards who defend the peace of the congregation at Al-Aqsa Masque and provide services to the visitors during the Holy Month and the entire year.
This donation was delivered to the department of the Islamic Awkaf on behalf of Bank of Palestine’s Chairman by a delegation that included Mr. Rushdi Ghalayini, Bank of Palestine’s Deputy General Manager, Mr. Thaer Hamayel, Head of Marketing and Public Relations Department. Mr. Ibrahim Joulani, General Supervisor, and a number of the Bank’s officials, in the presence of Shaikh Azzam Khatib, Department General Manager of Islamic Al-Awkaf and Al-Aqsa Masque Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Nasser Eddin, Assistant General Manager for Al-Awkaf Department and Shaikh Omar Kiswani, Director of Al-Aqsa Masque.
Ghalayini praised the Islamic Awkaf Department’s attention and support to the employees, within its vast responsibilities to preserve and take care of Islamic sanctities, especially the Holy Aqsa Masque. Ghalayini confirmed the Bank’s commitment towards social responsibility and its efforts to economically and socially enable the society and all its institutions.
Shaikh Azzam Khatib commended the kind gesture from Bank of Palestine’s Chairman, which included the provision of food parcels in recognition of the efforts of the guards, workers and cleaners to provide services for the visitors of Al-Aqsa Masque during the Holy Month.
Khatib stressed the importance of communication between the Holy City and its people under the difficult conditions we live under, in order to break the isolation and siege and enhance the resilience of the people in Jerusalem, particularly during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Khatib expressed his gratitude to Bank of Palestine’s Chairman and employees for the variety of the social initiatives to enhance the concept of communication, break the siege and strengthen the relationship between our people.
