Bank of Palestine and the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum (APEC), with the participation of the Palestinian Star Mohammed Assaf, announced the launch of a huge fundraising event featuring the performance of Assaf. The event will be held on Tuesday, 3/12/2019 at the Red Crescent Society theater in Al Bireh, under the slogan “you shine, and the benefits will go to children suffering from cancer and disabilities. The event’s main sponsors are Bank of Palestine and APEC, in cooperation with Al Huda Group and Al Nibali and Al Faris Real Estate Company, and will be implemented by the media partner Media Clinic.A press conference was held at Bank of Palestine headquarters in Al Bireh announcing the launch of the event, whereby the Star Mohammeh Assaf stressed that the this fundraiser will not be the last of its kind, ensuring that further such initiatives will be organized on an annual basis. Assaf also pointed out his participation in many initiatives that target various disadvantaged groups within Palestinian society, noting that the proceeds of the current event will go to organizations in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Mr. Thaer Hamayel, the Chief Retails Officer at Bank of Palestine, expressed pride in the role played by the bank in sponsoring such humanitarian events in Palestine, particularly the one that will be held this coming Tuesday in the city of Al Bireh, whose proceeds will target Palestinian society in general and children in particular. Hamayel pointed out the bank’s contribution in support of initiatives related to children cancer patients and children with disabilities, stemming from its corporate social responsibility. He also stressed the bank’s commitment to continue playing this role in this field. Mr. Nader Huwari, the Deputy Executive Director of APEC, stressed that persons with disabilities play a major role in his group’s corporate social responsibility initiatives. “The presence and participation of the Star Mohammed Assaf, will add momentum to the event,” he stated. Mr. Khalid Judeh, the General Director of the Red Crescent Society, emphasized the role played by his organization in serving children with disabilities, and the importance of implementing more initiatives that target less advantaged groups within Palestinian society. Mr. Tariq Al Natsheh, the Chairman of Al Huda Group, expressed pride in sponsoring such an event, and also referred to it as “a duty.” It is important to mention that this event will be sponsored by Bank of Palestine and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, Al Huda Group and Al Nibali and Al Faris Real Estate Company, in cooperation with the Red Crescent Society and Media Clinic. The proceeds will go to the cancer department at the Augusta Victoria Hospital, the school for the speaking and hearing impaired at the Red Crescent Society, the Arab Orthodox Nursing Home in Bethany, and the organization for treating children with cancer in the Gaza Strip.
