BOP Sponsors Early Detection of Breast Cancer Campaign Launched in Cooperation with Dunya Women Cancer Centre

Bank of Palestine sponsored an awareness campaign to encourage women to conduct breast cancer screening, as early detection of breast cancer can help save lives. The campaign is organized in cooperation with Dunya Women Breast Cancer Centre in Ramallah. This campaign was launched during the global Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease.  Other partner institutions include Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, Ramallah Municipality, Radio Ajyal, Radio and TV Corporation, National Beverage Company, Nisa' FM, Reema, Hygienic Paper Company, Birzeit University and others.  The campaign included media coverage and posters.

Bank of Palestine will cover the expenses of 100 screenings for women in Palestine, who can’t afford them.  Early detection of the disease can raise the recovery rate to 98%.

Head of the BOP Marketing and Public relations Division Thaer Hamayel said the campaign is consistent with BOP’s vision to enhance the role of women in the various economic, social and health aspects because the health condition of women is a key aspect of their contribution to economic and social development. He added BOP has allocated a considerable portion of its corporate social responsibility to humanitarian, developmental, cultural, social, sports, youth, and educational aspects. In fact, BOP has given a considerable share of its social responsibility to the empowerment of women and has signed different agreements for that purpose.
