Bank of Palestine honors student entrepreneurs from Birzeit University for researching Bank services

BOP has organized a special ceremony honoring Birzeit University students who have written research papers on the quality of services provided by BOP. Research topics included the development of new services provided by BOP, their compatibility with international standards and customers’ satisfaction.

The ceremony took place Sunday 20 April 2014 at the General Management HQ in Ramallah and was attended by BOP Deputy General Manager Rushdi Ghalayini, Marketing and Public Relations Division Director Thaer Hamayel, BOP officials, Professor Dahouk Daoudi from the Faculty of Business and Economics at Birzeit University. Honored students received Cash Card awards with a balance ranging from USD 50 to USD 100 depending on the quality and excellence of the research.

Ghalayini extolled the efforts made by the students and the findings of their research. He highlighted BOP’s interest in young entrepreneurs, adding that BOP has employed young graduates during the past five years. Ghalayini stressed the need to encourage young people to develop small projects. For this purpose, BOP has established a special department considering small projects a vital component that incentivizes economic growth.

Professor Daoudi commended BOP’s initiative honoring student entrepreneurs, stating such an initiative will also help the faculty to highlight the capabilities of talented students through providing them with opportunities to apply in real life the theories and knowledge they have acquired during their graduate studies.

A joint committee from the Faculty of Business and Economics at Birzeit University and BOP selected 14 male and female students to receive the honors after reviewing their research papers based on criteria relevant to BOP operations.
