BOP Sponsors Conclusion of Birzeit Nights Festival

The three-day Birzeit Nights Festival concluded its activities under the auspices of BOP and several local companies and institutions. As part of its corporate social responsibility, BOP supports cultural activities that strengthen Palestinian identity and preserve Palestinian heritage and history.

The activities for the festival took place on Birzeit University campus with the participation of several Palestinian musical and heritage groups. The proceeds of the festival have been allocated to the Needy Students Fund of Birzeit University.

The first day of the festival featured Palestinian dabka dance by Jozoor for Popular Dance Group and musical performances led by Simon Shahin and performed by Sana Mousa, Ali Mousa, Majed Azzam, Yellan Group, and the Palestinian Popular Dance Group. The second day featured Zaman Group from Acre, Sanabel Group from Birzeit University, and Wishah for Popular Dance Group. The second day of the festival featured also the Lebanese-Palestinian poet Zahi Wahbeh and Umayma Khalil through live and exclusive video broadcast. The festival was attended by a large assembly of Palestinian citizens from all over Palestine, Birzeit University President, students and staff.

Through sponsoring Birzeit Nights Festival BOP aims to support the Needy Students Fund. During the past two years the festival managed to provide financial help to several students and 132 male and female students received academic scholarships for the year 2012-2013.
