Bank of Palestine Receives Delegation from New York Citibank and Discusses Joint Cooperation

Last week Bank of Palestine received at its new main HQ in Ramallah a delegation of executive directors from New York Citibank. The delegation was received by Chairman of the Board and General Manager of Bank of Palestine Mr Hashim Al-Shawa, Board of Directors Member Mr Maher Farah, Deputy General Manager Mr Rushdi Ghalayini, Assistant General Manager Chief Treasurer Mr Ihsan Shaushaa, Placement Division Director Suleiman Nasr, Hala Hussein from the Financial Institutions Division and other senior officials.

The visit program included a tour in Bank of Palestine offices in different areas of the West Bank and familiarization with the activities carried out by the bank. In addition, a luncheon was organized in honor of the visiting delegation followed by a number of meetings that addressed ways to strengthen relationships and joint cooperation between Bank of Palestine and New York Citibank in various areas.

Furthermore, Bank of Palestine gave a detailed presentation on the bank’s history which began in 1960 and its developments and growth. Now Bank of Palestine has 48 branches and offices distributed all over the West Bank and Gaza Strip and equipped with all financial and banking services that meet the needs of the Palestinian society. Moreover, Bank of Palestine gave a briefing on financing productive projects and small and big enterprises which contribute to reducing the rate of unemployment and enhance Palestinian economy. In order to contribute to further development of the different sectors of Palestinian economy, Bank of Palestine has also established the Palestinian Expat Unit in order to attract part of what Palestinian expat businessmen/women as well as Arabs and foreigners in general own.

By receiving the delegation from New York Citibank, Bank of Palestine aims to enhance relationships, exchange ideas, information and expertise, introduce delegation to the investment environment in Palestine, and explore opportunities in the areas of finance and banking.

For their part, members of the delegation expressed their admiration with Bank of Palestine remarkable achievements during the past years and its ability to overcome all difficulties and challenges. The delegation was delighted with the visit.
