Bank of Palestine has organized a number of Ramadan iftars for orphan children in various West Bank districts and the Gaza Strip including Nablus, Ramallah, Bethlehem and Gaza. The organization of the Iftars took palace in cooperation with charity organizations and orphan associations in the northern, middle and southern parts of the West Bank.
Bank of Palestine’s employees took part in the iftars and attended to the children. About 700 orphan children took part in the iftars, which also included Ramadan activities such as recreational games, clown shows, contests and distribution of gifts as well as entertainment songs.
Bank of Palestine organization of Ramadan iftars is part of its corporate social responsibility to which the bank has allocated 5% of its annual net profit. The organization of the iftars, which took place in cooperation with support charity associations and organizations, is also compatible with the bank’s vision of sharing with the orphans and providing for them especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
In addition, Bank of Palestine has contributed to the support of children through different projects. For example, Mustaqbali Project, carried out in cooperation with Welfare Association, is one of the most prominent projects that target orphan children in the Gaza Strip. The project will go on for 22 years and care for the educational, health, training and employment needs of children. Furthermore, Al-Bayyara Playgrounds Project aims to establish hundreds of playgrounds for children in Palestinian villages and cities. There is also a project concerning the establishment of playgrounds for children suffering from cancer at August Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem. Bank of Palestine has also given donations to children with cancer care unit in Beit Jala and Bethlehem, and it has given donations to people with special needs.
