On Wednesday, 8/82012, Bank of Palestine, represented by Mamoun Abu Shahla, Vice Chairman of BoP, and the Islamic University of Gaza (IUG), represented by Kamaleen Shaath, signed the Zamalah Fellowship Programme.
The Zamalah Fellowship Programme, which aims to raise the calibre of education in Palestinian universities through building the capacity and increasing the exposure of university professors by sending them to academic and other professional institutions for a period ranging between one semester to a full year. With this programme, BoP aspires to enhance the quality of education in Palestinian universities, granting students easier access to the job market.
Abu Shahla praised the achievements of IUG which have gained it an advanced ranking among universities in the world, as its keeping pace with academic and scientific developments at all levels with a strategic vision for excellence. Shaath expressed gratitude for BoP's generous donation for IUG through the Zamalah Fellowship Programme, which he said will increase the quality of teaching at the university.
