The Welfare Association, Bank of Palestine, Muna, Bassem Hishmeh Foundation, the United Holy Land Fund and the Belen 2000 Foundation inaugurate the 31st Bayyara in the city of Beit Hanoun

The Welfare Association, Bank of Palestine, Muna, Bassem Hishmeh Foundation, the United Holy Land Fund and the Belen 2000 Foundation inaugurated the 31st Bayyara in the city of Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza, as part of the Bayyara Playground project, which aims to establish hundreds of entertainment parks for children in the various Palestinian governorates and provide fun and safe spaces for children to play in.

The inauguration ceremony was hosted by the municipality of Beit Hanoun, whereby the head of the Municipal Council, Mr. Mohammed Nazek Al Kafarneh, received the project partners, including Mr. Ayman Hamadah, the Director of Bank of Palestine’s branch in Beit Hanoun, Mr. Fuad Al Samneh, a Representative on behalf of the United Holy Land Fund, Engineer Fadi Al Hindi, the Director and Representative of the Welfare Association in the Gaza Strip, members from the Municipal Council, representative from civil society organizations and local public officials. The ceremony was inaugurated by a speech delivered by Mr. Mohammed Nazek Al Kafarneh, who welcomed the guests and stressed the importance of the project in terms of serving the citizens of Beit Hanoun. He also pointed out the role played by the Welfare Association, Bank of Palestine and partner organizations in contributing to the success of this promising national project, which serves all Palestinians nationwide.

Mr. Ayman Hamadah, the Director of Bank of Palestine’s branch in Beit Hanoun, stated that “until today, the bank contributed to the establishment of 31 entertainment parks for children, as part of Al Bayyara Playgrounds Project.” He added that “this project is among those initiated by Bank of Palestine years ago, as a result of the injuries endured by our children while playing in unsafe areas.” According to Hamadah, this project will contribute to a healthy upbringing for Palestinian children and assist them in their thinking, development and creativity. He also thanked all the partners who contributed to the success of the project and the establishment of 31 entertainment playgrounds across the Palestinian governorates. This park will be another successful contribution by Bank of Palestine as part of its humanitarian message and the fruitful partnerships with several organizations.

Mr. Fuad Al Samneh, the Representative on behalf of the United Holy Land Fund, stressed the importance of the term “Al Bayyara”, which is the Arabic word for the orange orchards for which Beit Hanoun is known for, and also a word that carries important value among all Palestinians and their past. Al Samneh expressed his appreciation towards the Welfare Association, Bank of Palestine and all the other partners.

Engineer Fadi Al Hindi, the Director and Representative of the Welfare Association in the Gaza Strip, expressed his gratitude towards the Welfare Association, Bank of Palestine, Muna, Bassem Hishmeh Foundation, the United Holy Land Fund and the Belen 2000 Foundation, for their important contribution to the community in funding Al Bayyara, and also thanked the Municipality of Beit Hanoun and its technical teams for all the support and assistance they provide for the Welfare Association in establishing this project. He also stressed the importance of this Bayyara for the city of Beit Hanoun, which is famous for its orange orchards, and who also inspired the name “Al Bayyara” for the program. Al Hindi pointed out that the area of Beit Hanoun was subjected to a great deal of destruction during the latest aggression against the Gaza Strip, and the Bayyara was established in the place that used to shelter displaced families, and this symbolizes the resistance and determination of the Palestinian people.
