50 Scholarships from BOP for Savers Who Passed the General Certificate of Education

BoP held an electronic withdrawal on 50 scholarships in local universities to savers who passed the General Certificate of Education this year during a special ceremony in the General Management Head Office in Ramallah and Gaza via video conference.

 

Mr. Anwar Zakareya, Representative of the Ministry of High Education, Mr. Afif Shuaib, Representative of the PMA, directors of education , and parents of saver students from the West Bank and Gaza were present.

 

Mr. Rushdi Ghalayini, Deputy General Manager, announced that the bank will cover tuition fees of the winning students with a maximum limit of USD 5,000, adding that BoP’s social responsibility’s contributions represented 4% of its profits.

 

Mr. Ghalayini said, he is proud that BOP will offer 50 Scholarships which is an outcome of its national and social responsibility. In addition, this support for our students comes inline with our celebration of the Golden Jubilee; it has been 50 years since the bank was established and the slogan of the Golden Jubilee is ‘ Fifty Years of Building’

 

The father of the winner student, Marah Mohammed Safi, a student from the Scientific Section with an average of 90.4% from Ramallah Branch expressed his happiness with the scholarship. He said ‘ I’m very happy that my daughter won the scholarship because of the difficult financial circumstances we live’. He also clarified that he is an employee with a limited salary and has three sons studying in universities Marah is his third sons and daughters to be enrolled in University. She will study Civil Engineering in Birzeit University .
