Bop Celebrates the Opening of its 42 Branch in Al- Yamun Village

 

On Monday 12/07/2010, BoP opened its new 42 branch in Al- Yamun Village in the west of Jenin with the presence of Dr. Jihad Alwazer, Governor of the PMA, Mr. Hashim Shawa, Chairman and General Manager of BoP, Mr. Qaddura Musa, Governor of Jenin, Dr. Adli Saleh, Dean of the Arab American University, Imad Abahra, Mayor of Yamoun, besides to representatives of official and popular institutions, a number of local dignitaries, businessmen, and investors.

 

Since 1995, Mr. Hashim said, the Bank has achieved many successes in all fields specially introducing the best programs and banking services. All these successes are attributed to the late Dr. Hani Shawa who worked hard to reach and achieve his goal of developing and expanding this Bank locally and regionally.

 

Mr. Shawa mentioned that Bop has launched last May the biggest saving accounts campaign in Palestine, which includes winning a lifetime monthly salary of USD 1,000. In addition, the campaign presents each child saving in BoP an instant prize of USD 50, besides to the weekly withdrawal for 1,000 of BoP’s shares for ladies, and providing 50 scholarships for students that enables them to continue their studies in the Palestinian Universities.

 

Mr. Shawa said that BoP took the responsibility to spread the culture of plastic cards. Within these days, Bop will launch a campaign concerning debit cards holders which will encourage them to buy through POS. Noting that there are more than 120,000 card holders.

 

On the other hand, BoP’s deposits volume is $ 1.30 billion and the volume of facilities provided to customers reached about half a billion dollars.

 

At the end of the celebration Mr. Shawa said ‘it has been 50 years since BoP was established in 1960, and we will celebrate this year its golden Jubilee under the slogan of ‘50 Years of Building’.
