BoP, the Silver Sponsor of Palestine International Festival 2009

Bank of Palestine sponsors Palestine International Festival for the year 2009, which was held in several provinces and was attended by more than 10,000 citizens in addition to important political, economical, and artistic figures.

The big Iraqi artist, Ilham Almadfa`i besides to many Arab, European, Turkish groups had participated in the festival which continued for a week.

Bank of Palestine signed today a USD 65 million financing agreement with a consortium comprised of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), PROPARCO, the Investment Arm of the French Development Agency, and SANAD Fund for MSME’s, in support of the Bank’s programs to support economic recovery in Palestine with a focus on small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) joined forces in a consortium to invest in Bank of Palestine (BOP). The investment is a strategic bid by the two Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) to further boost the capital base of Bank of Palestine in support of its role in economic recovery and reconstruction efforts in Palestine in addition to intended regional expansion by the bank in the GCC, North Africa and the Levant
