Bank of Palestine and the Charitable Society for Orphans and the Needy in Jericho celebrated the inauguration of Al Amal Model School, which was jointly funded by Ministry of Local Government and the Islamic Development Fund, and furnished through funding from Bank of Palestine.
The inauguration ceremony was held at Al Amal school premises in the presence of Dr. Saeb Erekat, Secretary General of the PLO Executive Committee, Mr. Mohammed Jabareen, Deputy Assistant at the Ministry of Local Government, Sheikh Harb Jaber Afaneh, the President of the Charitable Society for Orphans and the Needy, Mr. Mohammed Al Masaeed, Director of Bank of Palestine in Jericho, Mr. Azmi Balawnhe, Director of the Depratment of Education in Jericho, and Franciscan Reverand Mario Hadchiti (Ordo Fratrum Minorum), from the Good Shepherd Convent in Jericho.
The audience stressed the importance of Al Amal Model School in serving the orphans and the needy and promoting education, proving to the whole world that the Palestinian people are education and cultured and have the right to freedom and independence as any other people worldwide. They stressed that the school will always be an important sanctuary that provides free education to orphans.
Mr. Mohammed Al Masaeed, Director of Bank of Palestine in Jericho, expressed his enthusiasm towards the opening of Al Amal Model School, which functions under the umbrella of the Charitable Society for Orphans and the Needy, and assists children in fulfilling all stages in education. He expressed hope that all Palestinian organizations will follow lead in assisting their people. Al Masaeed stated that the Bank proudly contributed to the school because “one of the most important steps in life is receiving a good education.” “We are aware that our children are our biggest hope in achieving an intellectual renaissance through their ideas and creativity, and their continuous interest in technological advancements, which will impact political, economic, social and cultural life, to name a few,” he added.
