This year, the activities of the 60th Ramallah Convention are held in the city of Ramallah with the strategic partnership of Bank of Palestine. The Convention is organized by the Ramallah Federation Society in the United States, the Ramallah Municipality, and several local organizations, in cooperation with the diaspora community in the United States, from the beginning of July until the 13th of the same month. The Convention gathers over one thousand Palestinians from the diaspora community in the United States, who came with their families to participate in the many and different activities and events. The Convention will also feature several official personalities, as well as economic and social events in the city.
The 60th Ramallah Convention aims to continue the efforts conducted to promote cultural, social and economic exchange, and build bridges of communication between Palestine and the Palestinian diaspora community in the United States. Bank of Palestine is providing its annual sponsorship as a strategic partner, along with the contribution of many private sector and official organizations in Palestine, who also organized a press conference at the premises of the Ramallah Municipality.
The Convention this year will feature a number of private and public events, meetings and activities, among them: a private press conference at the municipality building, with the participation of several partner organizations; an opening ceremony organized with the participation of all Convention participants, commencing at the Ramallah Municipality park, and featuring welcoming speeches and a march led by scout troops and music bands, who will march to Sareyyet Ramallah, where a huge ceremony will be held until the midnight hours. Furthermore, a reception will be held for the Convention participants at the Ramallah Cultural Palace, in the presence of the Palestinian President, followed by a dinner at Al Birweh Garden next to the museum of late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. The Convention will also feature many artistic, cultural and heritage Palestinian events, in addition to official and informal business meetings and gatherings, which aim to establish solid grounds to promote Palestine as a place for business and investment and encourage Palestinians living in the diaspora community to return to their homeland.
Within this framework, Bank of Palestine will organize a huge workshop that will feature the participation of many investors from Palestine and abroad, to present investment opportunities within the Palestinian market, and provide an overview of the investment environment and incentives for investors.
Bank of Palestine believes that its sponsorship for the Convention, which is part of its contribution to corporate social responsibility (5% of its annual profits), will contribute to consolidating the connections that the diaspora community has with its homeland and improve the image of the Palestinian economy. The bank will also promote the opportunity to observe economic experiences and the ability of Palestinians to change the economic and social situation.
It is important to mention that the Ramallah Convention, which was held in the United States annually, is held for the second time in Palestine since 2016.
