Bank of Palestine sponsors Palestine International Book Fair 2016

Bank of Palestine sponsored the Palestine International Book Fair 2016, which took place in Ramallah Recreational Complex, under the slogan “Palestine Reads”, with participation by the guests of honor, a delegation from Kuwait, in addition to a delegation from Jordan and representatives from Arab and International countries. In addition to participation by Palestinian and international official and civil institutions, owners and representatives of more than 400 Palestinian and Arab publishing agencies.

The Bank’s sponsorship to this Fair is due to its belief in the importance of reading for the advancement of societies, and is in line with its principles in encouraging readers and learning about cultures within the Palestinian society. As reading is the basis of development and excellence of civilizations, in addition, it encourages innovations and scientific advancements in various countries, in which the level of civilization development is measured by the ratio of readers and intellectuals in any region.

The activities of the Palestine International Book Fair continues until the seventeenth of this month, distributed over five sections. These sections include the General Section, the Freedom Section, which includes events related to prisoners whose creativity must be instilled in the Palestinian cultural scene, the Children Section, and the Governorates Section, in which various events accompanying the Fair will be organized in different governorates. In addition to the Cinema Section, which includes film screenings, and the Free Section (Salman Natour Section), which is an open section to all institutions and innovators throughout the period of the Fair, for all institutions, cultural and art centers, artists and individual innovators. In addition to the Fair’s Cultural Café, under the name of the late innovator Ayed Amr. The main halls within the Book Fair hold the names of Palestinian and Arab innovators, such as Samih Al-Qasim Hall, Aref Al-Aref Hall, and Radwa Ashour Hall.
