Bank of Palestine organized two Ramadan Iftars in the honor of orphaned children, in cooperation with charitable associations and associations for orphans care, with participation from local community organization, area officials and a number of employees and officials from Bank of Palestine.
The Bank began organizing the Iftars since the beginning of the Holy Month of Ramadan to include all governorates of the country; this is due the Bank’s social responsibility, and is in continuation to the Bank’s activities for the fourth consecutive year, confirming its commitment to all the Palestinian people in general and to orphans in particular.
The first Iftar witnessed the participation of Al-Amal Association for Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities and Al-Fajr Palestinian Youth Association; the second Iftar witnessed the participation of Al-Maghazi Association for Community Rehabilitation and Association for the Development and Rehabilitation of the Palestinian house; the Iftars took place in Light House restaurant on the beach of Gaza city. The Iftars included various activities, including competitions, clown shows, art and entertainment shows and distribution of gifts; the number of orphaned gifts who participated in the first phase of these Iftars reached more 2000 orphaned children from all governorates of Gaza Strip. The Bank continuous to organize these Iftars to hold 13 Ramadan Iftars by the end of this holy month, with participation from the Bank’s employees in all these Iftars with the orphans in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
In his speech during the first Iftar, Mr. Alaa Al Redwan, Deputy General Manager of Bank of Palestine, thanked the charitable associations for their usual collaboration in Ramadan events; he expressed his contentment for the participation of orphaned children within the blessed Holy Month of Ramadan. He indicated that the Bank continuously provide assistance and do charitable work, referring to the campaigns and projects provided by the Bank to support orphaned children, including “My Future” project conducted in 2008 to provide healthcare to orphaned children, and the support for the mobile library project to encourage children to read, in addition to support for “Wajd” project to sponsor the orphans of the 2014 aggression, in collaboration with Haj Hashim Atta Shawa Charity Fund in the value of 5 million dollars through Welfare Association.
The participating children expressed their happiness and contentment for the events organized by the Bank. These Ramadan events are in line with the Bank’s vision to reach this deprived segment and share food with them as form of social solidarity and to draw a smile on their face as they participate in this Holy Month.
