On Tuesday, 23 September 2014, BOP has inaugurated the 12th playground in Beit Our Al-Tahta village west of Ramallah governorate in cooperation with the village council. The playground has been named after the late Midhat Sleiman Al-Ouri who was a senior official at BOP and passed away two years ago.
The inauguration of the playground is part of the mega Al-Bayyara Project that is being carried out by BOP in partnership with Welfare Association, Muna and Bassem Hishmeh, ANERA, and George and Ronada Salem. Al-Bayara Project aims to open hundreds of playgrounds for children in different parts of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by BOP Deputy Manager Rushdi Ghalayini, Legal Advisor to the President Hassan Al-Ouri, Head of Beit Our Al-Tahta Village Council Wajeeh Hilal, the family of the late Al-Ouri, mayors and heads of local councils from West Ramallah villages and an assembly of villagers and eminent figures.
Head of Beit Our Local Council Wajeeh Hilal welcomed those present and extended gratitude to BOP for the construction of the playground and the execution of other development projects in the Palestinian governorates. Hilal also highlighted the authenticity and loyalty of BOP, which tops all national banks. According to Hilal, the playground will add a key recreational space for children and keep them safe during play.
For his part, Ghalayini said Al-Bayyara Project aims to establish safe playgrounds for children in various parts of Palestine and reduce injuries and death among children playing in crowded areas and roads. He added that BOP’s initiative to establish at its own expense a playground in Beit Our Al-Tahta village is a clear confirmation of the bank’s tribute to the late Al-Ouri, who was an example of honesty and fidelity. “The playground, named after him, is only a small portion of the services the late Al-Ouri has provided to his people. His hard work is indeed unrivaled,” Ghalayini stated.
Bashir Sleiman Al-Ouri valued the step taken by BOP to establish a children playground adding that BOP has never failed to prove itself the top national bank in Palestine. Al-Ouri also referred to the good qualities and traits of his late brother.
It must be mentioned that Al-Bayyara Project is a national project and therefore stakeholders and partners have encouraged private sector holding companies and organizations to contribute to its expansion. Our Al-Tahta playground has been established with funding from BOP
