Bank of Palestine Honors and Introduces Kuwaiti Medical Delegation to Health Sector in Gaza

BOP has organized an honorary ceremony at Roots Hotel in Gaza welcoming a Kuwaiti medical delegation from the Kuwaiti Medical Association. The delegation arrived in Gaza to voluntarily provide medical aid to civilians injured during the latest Israeli military offensive.

The Kuwaiti delegation consisted of 14 doctors and nurses, who were introduced to the health situation in Gaza. BOP Deputy Manager Ala Al Radwan extended gratitude and appreciation for the efforts exerted by the delegation during the visit to provide the wounded with health care. He added the visit of an Arab delegation to Palestine is a personification of all the meaning of brotherhood and philanthropy. 

In addition, Al Radwan highlighted the close economic relations between BOP and Kuwaiti businessmen/women, stating that a good number of Kuwaiti investors are shareholders in BOP. Moreover, a BOP Board member holds the Kuwaiti citizenship.

 

For his part, head of the delegation Dr Abdel Muhsen Kandari thanked BOP for generously honoring Kuwaiti delegation, stressing at the same time the importance of solidarity of the Arab people with Gaza population. He stressed the historic role of Kuwait in supporting “our Palestinian brothers” and their righteous cause. He called for the end of Israeli military occupation and the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem its capital.

Head of Planning and International Cooperation at the Palestinian Health Ministry Dr Mohammad Kashef welcomed the Kuwaiti delegation, expressing hope for a stronger Arab support to Gaza and Palestine. Kashef lauded BOP’s role in “Gaza Is in Our Hearts” campaign and the aid BOP had provided Gaza population with during the latest Israeli military offensive.

At the end of the ceremony, BOP gave a presentation on its humanitarian activities during the Israeli offensive on Gaza as part of “Gaza Is in Our Hearts” campaign, which aimed to collect donations from citizens and organizations through BOP offices and branches as well as ATMs, e-commerce and internet banking. Furthermore, BOP has donated USD 200,000, in addition to USD 100,000 collected from its employees, to Gaza. The activities of the campaign included the distribution of food packages, fuel, medicine and medical supplies to hospitals. BOP has also provided children psychological support program and artificial limbs and other relief aid worth millions of USD.
