Bank of Palestine Inaugurates 50th Golden Branch in Bidya

In a solemn ceremony last Wednesday, 5 February 2014, Bank of Palestine celebrated the inauguration of its new 50th golden branch in the town of Bidya. Today Bank of Palestine has a well-diversified banking network of 50 branches in Palestine that efficiently provide citizens with high quality financial services. 

In his opening speech, Bank of Palestine Deputy General Manager – Chief Risk Officer Mr Rushdi Ghalayini welcomed the attendees, stressing the opening of the new Bank of Palestine branch in Bidya is very special in that the town of Bidya has a geographical and commercial significance and therefore merits the attention of all national organizations. Mr Ghalayini added Bidya has investment and service needs in all aspects of life that have to be met. Bank of Palestine’s determination to open new branches despite the harsh political and economic circumstances in Palestine attests to the bank’s commitment to development and investment, Mr Ghalayini concluded.

Salfit Governor Mr Abu Bakr congratulated Bank of Palestine on its new branch, noting that Bidya is central to the commercial and economic life in Salfit. He also extolled the achievements of Bank of Palestine during the past few years and its contribution to national economy.

Palestinian Monetary Authority representative Mr Mustafa Abu Salah extended gratitude to Bank of Palestine for its efforts in national development. He also pointed to the role of the Monetary Authority in solidifying and strengthening the Palestinian banking system, enhancing financial stability and keeping abreast of global technological development. Only recently the Palestine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC), which aims to protect bank customers’ deposits, has been ratified, thus enhancing the financial safety net that aims to maintain financial stability, avoid loss resulting from financial crises or fluctuations and reduce risks.

Finally, Salfit Mayor Mr Ahmad Abu Safiyeh expressed his pleasure for opening the new Bank of Palestine branch in Bidya, pointing to his readiness to provide all necessary services and facilities in order to enhance the presence of Bidya in the local map and support investment projects in the town.
