Bank of Palestine declared the delivery of an urgent shipment of medical equipment to Gaza Strip hospitals as part of ‘Gaza Is in Our Hearts Campaign’ launched by the bank last year in partnership with Welfare Association. The campaign included donations from the bank, its customers, investors and expatriate dealers. The shipment was delivered by Bank of Palestine delegation consisting of Gaza Strip Branches Assistant General Manager Mr Wael Al-Sourani, Public Relations and Marketing Officer Mr Khaldoun Abu Salim, Director of Welfare Association in Gaza Strip Mr Fadi Hindi, and Director-General of International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Health Dr Mohammad Al-Kashef.
The donation included dialysis equipment. In fact, the Gaza Strip suffers from an acute shortage of medical equipment and devices especially dialysis equipment, incubators and other devices. This donation is part of Bank of Palestine corporate social and humanitarian responsibility toward the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip especially after the Israeli aggression on 2012. Bank of Palestine is sensitive to the dire needs of the strip in all areas especially in medical and relief services as well as basic needs including nutrition.
For their part, officials in Gaza hospitals expressed their deep appreciation of and gratitude to Bank of Palestine for the urgent medical aid in support of the health sector. They extolled the bank’s role in supporting the Gaza Strip in all humanitarian areas.
This is the second donation made by Bank of Palestine. The first donation estimated at USD 100,000 was made last year upon the end of the Israeli military aggression on Gaza.
