In cooperation with a number of Palestinian NGOs, BoP sponsored the First Educational Mobile Library Project.
The mobile library was launched few days ago in the Beach Club of the Gaza Municipality with the presence of Mr. Jorg Schumacher, Director of the Goethe Institute, Mrs. Samira Al-Safadi, Responsible of the Media Library in the Cultural German French Center, Mr. Khaldoun Abu Saleem, BoP’s PR & Marketing Officer, and Mrs. Reem Abu Jaber, Director of Qattan Foundation.
The mobile library contains a number of office and scientific equipments for children. The project’s slogan is ( Read & Enjoy ); it aims to expand childrens’ cultural prospects specially those in remote areas and the most disadvantaged in the provinces of Gaza with the support of the Cultural German French Center and The A. M. Qattan Foundation.
Mr. Schumacher clarified that the mobile library project contains 1500 library materials
prepared attractively to children. It will start in the provinces of Gaza, and in the provinces of the West Bank and Jerusalem afterwards; to promote and develop cultural activities among children, stressing that this mobile library is a successful model to be adopted in the rest provinces of Palestine.
Mr. Abu Saleem said ‘sponsoring such a unique project is inline with the bank’s development mission towards its community’. He also confirmed that BoP will continue supporting all sectors, specially children as they are our promising future, pointing that BoP allocates 5% of its annual profits for donations, sponsorships, and social responsibility.
