With the presence of Mr. Hashim Shawa, Chairman and General Manager of Bank of Palestine, Bop hosted a dinner party on Gaza Beach at Roots Restaurant in Gaza to honor its staff and announce the launch of the golden jubilee celebrations of the Bank.
Mr. Hashim Shawa, members of the Board of Directors, executive management and employees of the Bank were present .
Mr. Shawa delivered the opening speech and began by thanking all staff members of the bank for the great efforts they exert in serving their First National Institution, Bank of Palestine. He also added that ‘your capability to do all your duties fully and perfectly despite the siege, closure, and all the obstacles we face is worthy our veneration’.
Mr. Shawa mentioned the inspiring financial results of BoP . In addition, he stated that the Bank has set a plan to expand in the West Bank, a big and a strong market full of investment opportunities. He also pointed that during the last year BoP opened 9 new branches and sub-branches, thus bringing the number of the Bank's branches and sub-branches to 40; i.e., keeping its first position as the most widely spread bank in Palestine.
