BoP Opens A new Branch in Beit Jala

Bank of Palestine celebrated the opening of its new branch in Beit Jala and laid the foundations for establishing its new branch in Bethlehem.

 

The ceremony was attended by The Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority, Dr. Jihad al-Wazir, Mr. Hashim Shawa, Chairman and General Manager of BOP, Mr. Abdel-Fattah Hamayel Bethlehem's Governor, Mr. Jose Said, Head of the Assembly of the Bethlehem 2000 in Chile, Mr. Raji Zeidan Mayor of Beit Jala in addition to a number of local and Chilean businessmen and customers.

 

Dr. Wazer said ‘Today bank of Palestine opens a new branch in Beit Jala and the first account to be opened in this branch is for Mr. Fernando Daghash, one of the Beit Jala’s Community in Chile which indicates a great significance and a strong message that despite the tight Israeli siege and the separation wall the Palestinians will never lose hope or faith’.

 

Mr. Shawa, Chairman and General Manager, pointed that the Bank’s ultimate goal is to reach all the customers wherever and whenever they are. Adding that since it was opened in 1960, BOP has achieved many successes in all directions specially in introducing and using the most modern technical innovations applied worldwide.

 

Mr. Shawa confirmed that BoP’s strategic plan is to expand locally and regionally pointing that since the beginning of the year 2009 the Bank has opened 9 new branches and sub-branches in Jerusalem, Ramallah and El Bireh, Nablus, Hawara, Maithaloun reaching to Beit Jala branch, the 39th in the network of Bank of Palestine
