Bank of Palestine Sponsors the Office Management and Automation Diploma for Jerusalemite Women

In cooperation with the "Felestineya" program, Bank of Palestine contributed to supporting the Office Management and Automation Diploma program implemented by the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) in Jerusalem. The training course would focus on enhancing the administrative, financial, and computer capabilities of women in the Jerusalem community. It will target 20 women from the Jerusalem Governorate: project owners, graduates, and job seekers. This program also included the organization of meetings and training workshops that will last for a full year, with a specialized diploma certificate upon completion.

This shall be in addition to the contribution towards the support of the diploma program, where Bank of Palestine, through the "Felestineya" program, will hold several banking awareness sessions to raise the participants' awareness of the available banking services and financial products. Besides that, it will introduce non-financial consulting services provided to women entrepreneurs and business owners to help them make the proper financial and banking decisions. This is in addition to the financial support provided by the bank for implementing the diploma program.

In this regard, Mr. Mahmoud Shawa, General Manager of Bank of Palestine, assured that the interest of the bank in supporting the program reflects its adherence to its responsibility toward the local community, especially in Jerusalem, and within its strategy to economically empower women, particularly in the Jerusalem Governorate. He added, "Through this program, we seek to enhance financial and banking knowledge for Jerusalemite women, as well as nonfinancial consultations, to enable them to develop and manage their projects and open employment opportunities for women and youth toward supporting the strengthening of the Jerusalem economy.". This goes along with the sustainability strategy that the bank has adopted in all its internal and external programs and operations." He added, "The banking and credit products which have been prepared by the bank for women and to support entrepreneurship will contribute to the empowerment of the Jerusalemite woman towards elevating the economic reality of her family and her society in addition to realizing the goals of the financial inclusion strategy.

Mrs. Sandrine Amer added on her part: the YWCA in Jerusalem started their work about enhancing women's positions within Palestinian society back many decades in efforts to give women equal representation within decision-making processes that form part of Palestine. It is specifically the economic aspects of making these women and families independent that play important, prominent roles in securing women with greater rights to build young leading abilities for making participative contributions in public spheres and in education. Such is achieved through various programs and events, most of which can be summarized in economic empowerment programs, hence giving women and youth several training programs such as diplomas and specialized long and short technical courses leading to employment and/or establishment of small projects.

According to its mission, which is directed toward promoting women's rights and economic empowerment, the Young Women's Christian Association in Jerusalem is interested in continuing its work and development in the vocational training center, one of the mainstays through which Palestinian women can enter the labor market.

It is worth mentioning that Bank of Palestine has adopted the issue of supporting the participation of Palestinian women in economic development since many years ago. It therefore developed the "Felestineya" program, which linked Palestinian women to various programs, training, opportunities, and mentorship to advance their capabilities and skills in different areas. The bank has also come up with unique packages and programs targeting female entrepreneurs and businesswomen, enabling them to enjoy all kinds of banking, financial, and credit services, with special privileges that pave the way for encouraging them to enter the field of entrepreneurship and participate in enhancing the economic wheel at the level of Palestinian governorates.
