Dr. Laila Ghannam, Governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, accompanied by a delegation from Bank of Palestine, handed over financial support to the management of the Khalil Abu Riya Medical Rehabilitation Center, affiliated with the Friends of the Patient Association, to help equip the center's children's department. This is in contribution and part of the strategic plan in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, in coordination with the Governorate's Friends Network from the private sector, in support of the most vulnerable groups of society and the institutions that care for them.
The event included the presence of Mr. Rabea Dweikat, Head of Corporate Communications and Public Relations at Bank of Palestine; Mervat Aarouri, Regional Manager of Bank of Palestine's Central Branches; Omnia Abu Shahla, Head of Individual Relations; and Tarek Mahajna from the Sustainability Department. On the other side was Yasser Khalaf, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Patient Association, and several members of the Association's Board.
Governor Ghannam called for cooperation between the sectors of our people and various institutions and expressed pride in Bank of Palestine and its distinguished support for our people. She also expressed appreciation for the role of Abu Riya Center in the advancement of rehabilitation services for people with disabilities, especially its national role in alleviating the suffering of those injured due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on our people across the northern and southern governorates.
Mr. Dweikat stated that this support comes within the humanitarian philosophy adopted by the bank in enabling our national institutions, particularly those working in the domain of people with disabilities and children. He said that Bank of Palestine has allocated a segment of its work, support, and annual budget toward humanitarian, health, and development activities. He also expressed his pride in the strong relationship the bank has built with the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate and the Khalil Abu Riya Center at all levels.
For his part, Mr. Khalaf thanked Governor Ghannam for her continuous support and Bank of Palestine for their donation. He assured him that this contribution would help the center achieve its noble goals, especially in providing rehabilitation services for people with disabilities. He added that the donation would enable the center to complete the preparation and purchase new equipment for its new children's department which will be opened soon. He also went ahead and thanked this contribution, extending the appreciation to the management headed by the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Hashem Shawa.
