BOP stated that “Palestine Is in Our Hearts” campaign, launched in partnership with Welfare Association (WA) and UNRWA, has collected so far more than USD 850,000, including USD 650,000 as donations from citizens and USD 200,000 as BOP contribution to the campaign. The donations were allocated for the relief of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and Al-Maqassed Hospital in the city of Jerusalem. WA and UNRWA distributed these donations in the form of medicines, fuel and food supplies for the patients in Gaza hospitals and civilians who have lost their homes. The money was also used for equipping three mobile clinics, providing water for domestic use, carrying out psychological support projects, as well as for purchasing personal care kits for the families displaced from their homes in the latest Israel military offensive on the Gaza Strip. These donations will contribute to the alleviation of human suffering caused by the extremely difficult conditions experienced by our people in the Gaza Strip.
The campaign was launched after the opening of special accounts by the WA and the UNRWA to enable citizens to donate through the various BOP branches and offices and ATMs, in addition to the possibility of making donations using of Visa and Master Cards issued by local or international banks via e-Commerce service and the online banking. Citizens can have access to BOP official website and make donations through it. In turn, WA and UNRWA consistently update the list of the urgent needs for Gaza hospitals especially medical supplies and provide them immediately.
BOP has extended gratitude and appreciation to all the citizens who came to the Bank’s different branches and offices to donate to the campaign, as well as customers who have used other means of donations in order to deliver the money for “Palestine Is in Our Hearts” campaign, noting at the same time that the campaign will continue for an indefinite period of time in future.
BOP has also expressed hope that all citizens and institutions that have not made voluntary contributions to our people in the Gaza Strip would rush to make donations to “Palestine Is in Our Hearts” campaign to be able to continue to strengthen the steadfastness of the population in the Gaza strip, help alleviate their suffering, and assist them in overcoming the exceptional and most inhumane circumstances they are experiencing.
